ICAO – ACI World Working Group meeting on Emergency Response Planning

Milan Bergamo Airport was honoured to host the ICAO – ACI World Working Group meeting on Emergency Response Planning.
Over three focused days, aviation experts from around the world collaborated to develop international guidelines for establishing an Airport Family Assistance Plan, aimed at providing compassionate support and assistance to victims of aircraft accidents and their families.
The work was informed by both global and national best practices, with Milan Bergamo Airport sharing its assistance programme, developed in close cooperation with ENAC and Comitato 8 ottobre 2001 – per non dimenticare, reflecting a deep commitment to care and support.
The meeting opened with remarks from Amelia Corti, CEO of SACBO, who highlighted the airport’s dedication to Family Assistance. Adele Scarani, President of the Comitato, emphasized the key role of the families affected by the Linate accident in driving continuous improvement.
This event marks the conclusion of a series of important meetings in which SACBO reaffirmed its committment to safety and security — beginning with the 53rd ACI Europe Aviation Security Committee meeting in May, continuing with the ICAO Working Group on AAAVF in June, and culminating with the ICAO – ACI World ERPEG meeting, where SACBO had the honour of showcasing not only the airport’s capabilities but also the beauty of the Bergamo area.
Final guidelines are expected by year-end, and we’re proud to have contributed to this vital initiative.
